If your tongue weight is correct the factory jack is suitable. Mine in 5 seasons old. The wheel sits in wooden block with a cutout cradle for the wheel. It allows to not have to crank it up much
I use a couple of pieces of 6x6 timbers to support the tongue. The trailer jack wheel is mounted to the port side rail of my trailer (MFI) and twists the trailer a little bit when supported on the jack wheel. The wood blocks allow me to get the bow higher than the jack wheel and all of the water out of the bilge during the winter storage.

Jack Stand. Click on my picture in the Signature. It is yellow. Also provides a bit more security since they would have to lift it off the Jack Stand manually or cut the chain I wrap around my jack Wheel that I have swung up and crank that down. I do have the XO mounted and I am sure that it would be fine, but can't hurt taking the weight off of it for extended periods. Additionally, In my mind the trailer is more secure from a safety stand point on a fixed jack stand.
These from Harbor Freight. They are aluminum, much lighter to move around. They also were not part of the recall on the other crappy ones. I have two and will putting them under the boat trailer to lift the wheels for winter storage. I am sure there are others that are better but figure I was good to go at 3 tons each for my boat. My front one is solid steel and it is much heavier. Just a thought. Since I have a harbor freight right down the road it is convenient. Just using the for the boat, I have the full steel yellow ones like show for the garage and car. Hate to be without a set since they would be under the boat if I need them in the garage for the winter.

I've always used the wheel on every boat I've ever owned. Never thought to use a jack stand. I like that idea. I have my wheel jack extended all the way, and it seems pretty flimsy.
Got one at Tractor Trailer (6 Ton one, $34.00) that works like a champ... will purchase two more to keep the trailer off the tires for winter... I am planning to remove tires, keep them in my garage and I am also planning to cover the axles to protect them... Thank you all for your assistance.
Anyway, I welded a bow stand last year with some pieces of mild steel tubing to give me enough height to make sure every thing drained. Also, when I winterized, I put the rear on 6 ton stands to get the suspension unloaded and used cinder blocks to get more height at the bow. It takes a floor jack and a high-lift to get this in the air, so maybe this one won't get stolen like our 16ft Seadoo did. Our winter isn't usually severe, and I don't have room to store the tires, so I left them on this time. Plus, Summer will be here in Texas before we know it, so saved me a step.
I use four scissors jacks and lift the trailer so there is no weight on the axles, tires or front jack. I’ve done this for years and figure it as lows down potential thieves too!
