Does yamaha issue separate titles for boat and trailer?

Two titles. In ohio the trailer is a vehicle and registered just like a car with Ohio Department of transportation.
Boat title goes with to register the boat with Ohio division of watercraft. Suspect similar in your state.
Note that Ohio requires engine numbers to be recorded on the title. not sure if your state does. This was a gotcha that I got resolved with my dealer (shout out to bayside jet drive in oc Maryland) as i didn't have the boat hitched to truck when I was doing the paperwork

Florida does not issue titles for trailers. Our registrations actually act as our title, there is a section printed on it to sell and sign over ownership to a new owner.

Bit of corn fusion, but there is a title for the trailer. Thanks all for the good info. Hope this helps others in the future too.

If you have a boat loan, and a lengthy one at that, it is also a good idea to get the lender to either do two separate loans or pay them cash for the value of the trailer, so that it isn't encumbered by the long term boat loan. They won't release the title to you to sell, trade, or replace the trailer in the event you want to do that. And...even if it is worn out for you, it may have some value and you can't sell it if you can't get the title to it. So not having the trailer on the loan is to your advantage.
