@Maduro I like your mount and install a lot! Great Work, and clean. Where did you get that thru hull clamshell from?

Where can I buy that cable cover you have covering the hole where the transducer cable enters the boat? All I'm finding is about half that size.

The one I have came with the Raymarine transducer. I found one that might work @https://smile.amazon.com/DOLITY-Nylon-Cable-Ventilator-Hardware/dp/B083CPBZSC/ref=pd_aw_sbs_5/133-6082878-3667710?pd_rd_w=3divT&pf_rd_p=f7859f39-57c1-42db-a6ae-7a4c572be790&pf_rd_r=30E2T44A6P3FGDJ3VSTB&pd_rd_r=37fe3b8e-8b12-455f-95cb-773ef267a68a&pd_rd_wg=kD7Ww&pd_rd_i=B083CPBZSC&psc=1

Hello, a friend is telling me that my transducer needs to be just below the water line to prevent it from seeing bubbles. That puts it mounting on the bottom of the rear deck basically. I see most FSH \'s with the transducer mounted basically mounted at the very bottom of the boat...thoughts??

So I got the SIMRAD GO9 with the 3 in one active scanning transducer… that sucker is huge, way longer than the plate I see other people mounting it to. I ran across this post and one other and now wondering about the benefits of mounting it that low under the boat. Can others chime in… is there an issue mounting directly to the jet pump plate? Other that it sticking out past it? Also @Maduro did you home fab that plate adapter that lowers it?

@MrBubbaGump I have the same setup and bought this:

I mounted it to a piece of starbord that i bolted to the ride plate using the 2 already existing bolts that ride plate used. I countersunk the bolts so they didn't interfere with the mount area

@Neutron any issues with the side scan being blocked?

When real shallow the right side has a noticeable dead spot but i dont mind. My main concern was not having it on the transom, interfering with my lateral thrusters. Also having it read at all speeds, which it does

The reason I mounted on the plate was so that the side scan would not be interrupted. I didn’t mount it under the keel line. I was figuring if I ran aground that the keel would hopefully take the brunt of impact.
I can run 30ish and I still get readings. The Raymarine Axiom + refreshes pretty rapidly and I’m very satisfied.
The plate was a Raymarine product that is for a jack plate. I took an aluminum L -angle and fabricated it together. Hope this helps.

A couple other ideas using the included mounting bracket anyone have any thoughts or experience… keeping in mind this has side scan. Two views of two options. Mounting to the ride plate vs the hull. Obviously the hull is lower so more likely to achieve sides can without interference. 071BCFF1-1AF3-40B8-9D98-900C449F6F9E.jpegDC157675-C1F9-464B-A168-2CAD7A786ADF.jpegAFA85B40-974C-44B5-8B21-2257AD3548F3.jpegCD6002EB-EC4E-4FE5-AAD2-A767A88D769D.jpeg

The last picture and if you could move away from the keel. Not sure what the degree of scan angle is? Trick is to let the scan miss the keel line for the starboard.

Here is mine I did a couple of months ago. No issue's with side scan or when traveling. 2022 FSH 210 Sport

Nice and clean! I've been doing the pre "I don't want to make a hole in the hull for my transducer" jig for a few weeks now, and I like your mount as it's with aluminum and screws I already have in the garage. Have you noticed any pull of the boat while underway, fast or slow? I'm guessing, but maybe a starboard tendency, if any? Thx for posting your pix!

Looks like the mount I did :)

@tradenpaint Take off the side flanges off the mount on the transducer, they call it a spray shield, I did since they can almost work like a trim tab. but if you wack it out of alignment it can be pulling down.

5 degree maximum side angle is what Garmin recommends for side scan, to the lowest part of the boat.

Here is how I ended up mounting mine… sorry about the one blurry pic. Didn’t realize it till now. Everything went well other than my messy sealing job… it definitely won’t leak though… 6E031E69-4A8D-4F66-B6A2-40D3A301DAB2.jpeg51EA3ACE-E811-4CD8-A8C2-872FC70031C4.jpeg89AC5509-A601-4030-B06C-D6B92E8E867A.jpeg

I would have used the following product if they had not included it with the kit.
Scanstrut

For what it's worth, in case anyone is reading this thread for transducer advice, the Scanstrut doesn't work, at least it didn't for me. I don't think there's a way to fit the 1" cable end through the device.

I guess the newer boats have the stainless drain plug port. My 2020 came with a cheesy plastic one.
