Anyone here had experience purchasing a used boat with remaining YES warranty? Mine expires 04/2020 but need to transfer it. The only thing I can find is that a service log should of been kept. The previous owner had 10 hour and 50 hour service done at dealership he bought it from, so they should be able to send records to my local dealer. Boat has 40 hours on it (50 hour service done early). Do I need to contact Yamaha to officially transfer? Or is it attached to boat and is covered no matter who owns?

I was told that the YES warranty follows the hull ID so it should be covered. Do not call Yamaha wait till you can go to your dealer and transfer it. If you call them they are going to get all your info log it and then tell you that you have to go to a dealership to transfer it and you have to do it with in two weeks( This happened to me). If you just wait till you get to your dealership the next time you can transfer it at your convenience. If the dealer asks let them know you bought the boat with in two weeks of when you brought it ;)

Yes, I wondered about the 2 week clause in the paperwork I have. Sounds like I should visit my dealer and work it out through them.
