I noticed where my drain plug is the bottom-most part of the keel. There’s some damage. The paint looks like there is a scratch. I have no idea how it happened. There is no other damage to the area, either around the keel or rudder. Does this need to be repaired? Feels and looks like a plastic composite? It is not deep just through the. Surface. I am not as concerned about it and don’t quite understand how it happened without any other surrounding damage. My only guess is potential maybe a rock kicked up either during towing or In the water. Please see the image below for a better description just curious more than anything
Thanks

That doesn't look like anything i would worry about. If you are really anal i would probably light sand the spot and treat it with some paint. but which paint? hmm... any idea guys?

It looks like a defect. That’s annoying on a newish boat.

Id do what @Dixemon said and cover it with paint or it looks like it will spread.

Thanks for the replies anyone has an idea of what paint to use?

I don’t know if that piece is aluminum or something else. I didn’t actually realize it was a painted part until your posting. Sorry I really don’t know.
