The AR195 comes stock with a USB input to the stereo located in the glovebox. It's more than just a charging port. When you connect a phone to it, you can control the stereo through the Marine Audio app, just as if you would through the bluetooth. However, I've never like the bluetooth connection. It's slow, unresponsive, skips, etc. And when we go for a day-long trip, my phone battery won't last. So .... I'd like to duplicate the USB port found in the glovebox to the instrument panel. Then I can have a direct link to the stereo and have a charging port right from the captain's chair. But I'm guessing it is more than just purchasing a USB charge port, and connecting positive/ground wires.

Help?

Super - I thought it might be that easy. I'll have to see if the stock one in the glove box is wired to the head unit the same way.
Yes - right now, both the USB input and the head unit are located in the glove box.
