VHF Radio install

Thought I’d post my new VHF radio installation incase anyone is looking for ideas.

I ended up going with the Standard Horizon GX-1300 mostly because of its small size. I saw others installed in the open compartment on the front of the console. After a lot of measuring and checking the wiring behind the console I went with the location in the pics.

Fits perfect.

Could you possibly post additional info/pics on antenna purchase and installation method/location.

I went with a 36” fiberglass removable whip made by Pacific Aerials (model P6182). Along with the thru-hull base mount (P6115). I plan on mounting it to the top of the center console. Since I garage my boat I needed a removable option.
