Ok, so I have a new 210 FSH. It comes with some vinyl graphics just above the waterline near the stern on the sides of the boat like most of the Yamahas. My last boat also had vinyl graphics, which of course get beaten up over time. I decided to remove them and as expected they cause to gelcoat to fade unevenly.

I am thinking about just removing the graphics off the new boat. Thoughts?

I really like the stickers removed... the boats have a clean look without them. I’m in the process of removing mine on my 230. I’m using a stripe eraser wheel made by 3m. Cheap on amazon. Hook it up to a drill and it removes the graphic without scuffing your precious gel coat.

I was thinking just light use of a heat gun. The boat has not even been in the water yet. They should come off pretty easily.

Yea with the boat so new a hair dryer or heat gun would takes those off no problem.

While you're at it you should de-lawyerize the boat by removing the majority of the 5o0 warning stickers :D. It really cleans up the cockpit area.

Yes, that is already planned. The only one that will remain is the passenger rating sticker.

I did my fx140 jet ski by hand with no heat and they came off fairly easily if they didn't have cracks or scratches.

i removed the stickers from my boat...so much better looking

Removed mine last spring after 10 years. Pretty easy to see how oxidized the gelcoat was.20170415_144558.jpgA couple of days wetsanding the oxidation came off,20170430_102323.jpgAnd then with the help of Marine 31 products,20171122_075042.jpgI was very pleased with the outcome.20170430_144923.jpgBut yours is new and won't need to do this.
