New Yamaha boat owner. Wondering what everyone does for outdoor winter storage for the wake tower speakers?

Just bought a 2018 242x e series. I took the sound bar off but the round speakers are hard wired in with no connector. Do people cover them or just take them off for the winter? Unfortunately I’m storing the boat outside.

Ps, I’m in Wyoming.

At the very least, cover them. You might be able to purchase covers for them.

That being said, I have mine set up so I can take them off. I do this in winter and store them indoors. I have neoprene covers that zip on and off and that is what I use to store them when the boat is not in use during the boating season.

I wonder if you could snip the wires and install a quick connect that would allow you to take them off. I have mine off, and will leave them off until the pollen clears this spring. Have neoprene covers for the season.

I would remove them if at all possible by adding some quick connectors just for peace of mind and to prevent theft. On our lake we used to have quite a few issues with missing equipment in the spring. Stereos, speakers, batteries, wakeboards, skis, whatever wasn't nailed down. And its a pretty safe area in general. I guess these boats are just easy targets when stored outside. Your situation may be different depending on where you store your boat.
