Just a quick reminder to leave your big tires chocked until you hook up. I had my little wheel chocked in the front and the chock slid out. This could of ended really bad. I ended up getting pinned between my truck and boat. No need to go into more details other than I’m ok but sore after a trip to the ER. Less than a $100 of damage to the non living items involved. All I can say is, it’s a miracle that nothing worse happened.

Oh boy.....Be careful out there. I will not tell the dumb stuff I have done when hooking the boat up before.

Glad you're OK. That kind of thing can get out of control in a hurry, and there are significant forces at hand to do damage to self and property.

Another easy procedure.......Safety chains are the first thing connected and the last thing removed when connecting truck to trailer.

I've lost a trailer "down a hill" before that resulted in significant property damage. Thought the wheels were chocked, apparantly the item I chose to chock them was neither secure, nor large enough to hold back the weight. Very fortunate it didn't hurt anyone nearby at the time.

Thanks for the reminder. I've been lucky so far, but my brother in law got pinned with the trailer tongue recently.... Cut him like butter, but thankfully nothing that didn't heal.

Also: invest in proper chocks. They are cheap and actually work. Using a brick or a chunk of wood is strikingly less effective.

I got 2 at harbor freight and used those hard rubber bungie cords to secure them to the fenders on the trailer. One on each side. Then there is never an excuse and they are right there.

I'm amazed at how well the ramped plastic chocks work, even on a heavy 24' boat. Physics tell us that the shape and texture provide plenty of force to keep those from rolling.

On the other hand, my enclosed sled trailer has blown off my driveway twice with double chocks on them. There is no weight against those light chocks, so they are easily blown off. I may have to go solid rubber for that trailer. Damn wind coming out of Fargo! IT BLOWS!
