So, I got water coming on board and can't figure out where it's from. I think it's from around the engine intake? Is that what it's called. I just bought the boat 2 days ago. So my lingo may be off. Is this a common location for water to come on? Is it an easy fix?

Coming on board where? Engine compartment? Do you have a pic of where you are seeing it come in?

I don't have a pic. I just notice the engine compartment and center bilge slowly gains water.

A couple of questions first. Was the boat covered prior or is there any chance it has been in the rain at all? Sometimes water moves from the front to the back after its been sitting out in the rain. With out pictures its difficult to determine. Next time you put the boat in the water let it sit at the dock for about 30 min and see if the bilge is filling up from just sitting there if it is not it is likely something else. Also you will want to feel the temp of the water in the bilge if it is warmer then the lake water it is likely a loose or broken hose clamp check this if the boat is only filling with the engine on.

The water was definitely hotter than lake water. I assumed it was just from being in engine compartment.

It is likely a hose clamp has broken off somewhere. I'm not very familiar with that boat someone else will have to chime in to help you track it down. @Clinton Schwingel I would go ahead and post this over in the general forum it will get a lot more traction there.

@Bruce or @Julian can either of you move this over to the general discussion forum.

@Clinton Schwingel being fairly unfamiliar with your boat the basic way I would diagnose this with any jet boat or ski is if the water was warm or hot it is probably one of the hose clamps either from the cooling system or the exhaust. Out of the water run the boat on the hose and try and see if you can see where the water is coming from and you will want to try and replace the clamp from there if you can see the water. I'm guessing if your boat was not over heating its probably on the exhaust somewhere but that is not always the case.

Welcome to the forum @Clinton Schwingel. As @robert843 has suggested warm/hot water would suggest an exhaust line clamp or hose has let go. This is not uncommon and hopefully will be an easy fix. Once fixed you should go through your engine compartment and lower bilge and check all hoses and clamps. Your profile doesn't indicate where you live & boat. If you're boating in salt water, or if the previous owner used the boat in salt water you should be checking these hoses & clamps as a pre-season check item.

You should also consider changing engine oil & spark plugs if you haven't already done so. Spark plugs are a common cause of some engine issues that can be easily corrected with new plugs. I also believe oil lines are an issue on your model boat unless you're already running on pre-mix. Hopefully other members with your model boat will chime in with advice on that.
