Every time it rains both my upper and lower glove boxes (especially the lower) get water in them on my 2006 SX230. Is this normal? There is no evidence that at any time there were any gaskets to seal them.
I had the same issue with the same boat. Most of the time my boat is covered when outside. When it's not I drape a trash bag or piece of plastic from where the dash meets the bottom of the windshield over the glove box area. I do the same over the instrument panel.
