2000 Regal 1700 XR2, and there is a sizable leak. It's between the engine and transom, and I can't really tell if it's coming from a notch in transom, or jet pump grommet. Thinking of just basting the whole area in fiberglass+adhesive, at least until I can get more permanent repairs in place.

Yay/nay? Here are some videos 5 new photos by Peter Zeltins

Disclaimer: I know nothing about Regal's.

You do seem to have a sizable leak there. I would be inclined for something temporary to do 3500 or a silicone caulk. Either of those you will be able to remove when you pull the parts and figure out what is actually wrong (oh, and I do think it will take removal of one or both sides of that equation--pump and/or engine--to figure it out).

I actually flooded the bilge with boat on trailer, and it was leaking only through jet pump. Blasted the whole grommet seal with FlexSeal (yeah, I know!), which helped a little. Just now stuffed it with 5200 o_O we'll see...

5200 is permanent. Hope it fixed it. Otherwise you may need a grinder to get the 5200 off to replace the seal or whatever is there.

Yes, I know it's permanent. I don't think it will permanently adhere to the engine block though (fiberglass is different story). Regardless, nothing a bit of grinding won't fix...

Thanks!
