Anyone installed one of these sub/amp combos? I picked one up this morning for my 2014 SX 192.

Where did you put it? How did you mount it (did you glue wood, or mount it right to the floor?) Do you remove it for storage? Wiring routes?

Tips or tricks?

On my 2015 SX192, I have installed (4) wetsounds xs650s RGB speakers driven by a wetsounds HTX-4 amp and a TEMPORARY Rockford Fostgate 300-12 punch sub with a built in 300watt class D amp. The head unit is a Kenwood KMR-765D head unit.

I put the sub in the storage compartment, in its own self contained enclosure, for convenience and it sounds pretty darn good.....but I want more. I was honestly not expecting to be impressed at all but I am. I play the stereo with the compartment door open because if I dont then you can barely hear the bass.

Yes, I remove mine because I am in Florida and humidity is high!

For wiring, I routed 2 8ga power cables from the battery to an overpriced West Marine DC power distribution block. From the PDC I route shorter cables to the HTX-4 and the sub.

I hope this helps!

Let me know if you have some more questions.

Honestly, I think I am going to get JL subs in the NEAR future!

Appreciate the reply.

I ended up putting it in the port side rear seat compartment (same compartment as the battery).

I wanted to be able to put it in a spot where I could remove it during winter storage. So I didn't want it in the port side storage door as I use that area a ton. And getting it in and out would be a pain. So port side rear is where it went.

Instead of using all six screws provided, I used the packing foam from the box (it's like a closed cell foam) and put a battery box strap over the top of it and used the two battery box strap mounts underneath it and screwed them to the floor. Seems to work fine.

Now I just have to get the head unit set up properly with the sub. Still working that out.

I'll post pics later.
