Hi everyone... hope you are doing great!
2016 Yamaha 242 Limited S here. I have read in several forums and threads about lubricating the pump bearings. Tried it yesterday and for the life of me I can't find them... everything in my engine compartment is so utilized and I couldn't get behind the engines... not sure where to look...

Thank you very much in advance,

Laz

Its a stretch to reach but it is at the rear of the engine compartment. Where the driveshaft goes through the bulkhead.
The zerk is at aprox 1 o'clock
Only give it a few pumps of grease. Dont overpack it

Do you mean the intermediate bearings behind the engine? That is not part of the pump and I would strongly recommend you read all the info on that item before deciding to do anything to it.

@GoodCubanito ......it is likely that your pump bearing is sealed and what you are referring to as lubricating the pump bearings is actually lubricating the seal on the pump housing which is certainly a very important maintenance procedure to follow. As was recommended by Cobra Jet you should definitely read the manual that is specific to your year and model to confirm the amount of grease to pump into the zerk at what hours and again at what interval. Not greasing it and adding too much grease can both cause problems. I know you know to wipe that zerk fitting with a clean rag before injecting grease into it. P.S. Yamaha and Riva Racing both specified Yamaha Lubricant which comes in a cartridge ready for a "grease" gun. It is a blue colored lubricant with the approximate consistency of bearing grease.

Not sure... but @Neutron gave you the right location and @Cobra Jet Steering LLC gave you the right advice. Pretty sure I blew one of mine out already... So don't do that. CJS's syringe method is what I would recommend.
