So I bought a 5lb CO2 fire extinguisher for use on an engine fire only. The USCG said it is approved if I buy the required bracket. So I bought the bracket. This FN bracket is heavier than my anchor. Where am I going to mount this FN thing? (Horizontal/Vertical) WTF. The fire extinguisher is backordered. Like everything else. IMG_2326.jpg

My bracket is a bit different, but I used 5200 to mount 3/4" starboard in the Starboard under helm storage, when you open the door right to the left. It is out of the way but easily accessible. I then used 3/4" SS Large Pan head screws to mount the bracket to the starboard. I mounted the bracket so the bottom sits on the floor to support the weight of the fire extinguisher, in the and under it I put 1/2" rubber matt, just a small square of it to cushion the fire extinguisher. Can get you a picture but it is raining and cover is on.

There may be better places, but this kind of worked out well.

I like the idea of using starboard. I'm going to use it for mounting my porta potty, and for mounting my fuse panel under the helm. I rather not drill down into the substrate. I'll mount my extinguishers next to each other. The floor space is limited anyway, the cable bypass box is mounted in there.
I have yet to see 3/4" starboard, and they are usually out of the 1/2". I bough a bunch of Dri-Dek, I'll probably use that to cushion it. Thanks for the great idea. My bracket weighs about 10 lbs. Crazy

What did you end up doing with your table leg? I'm going to mount my extinguisher in it's place, and move the table as well. The brackets for the table already fell off. Fiberglass needs to be nut and bolted. SMH Yamaha...
