I have a 2011 Yamaha 242 limited S. One of the motors threw a rod and cracked the lower cases. I have found a 2016 1.8 L high output that came out of a ar190. It's a good deal and I don't want to miss out on it but I am unsure of it's compatibility.
Does anybody know if this is the same motor and or anything I need to know about doing a swap.

It should be the same motor. People get them out of jet skis all the time. I do not the details of what you will need for the swap but I am sure some else will chime in.
Please do keep us updated; lots of people will love to know how the process goes

Yamaha makes two different versions of the normally aspirated 1.8 liter (1,812 cc) engines. One is complaint with California Air Resource Board (“CARB”) requirements the other is not. You need to compare the information on the plate attached to the motor to determine if it’s carb or not (the carb version puts out less KW / HP) OR if you know what to look for the CARB version has catalytic converters.
