Wire Guage

I am getting ready to start doing some wiring for USB and other accessories, VHF, etc. etc. as well as in the near future at a couple of extra speakers, etc. I want to purchase some bulk wire from amazon. What Guages of wire for these projects should I be buying? Looking to stock up.

we have a wire thread in the FAQ under electronics, beware of inexpensive wiring, often times it will cause a problem especially with stereo components,

I usually always go 12 gauge if possible....charging ports from the factory are probably 18 gauge (just guessing)
