Yamaha 12” map

Hello, brand new to the group. Just got a Yamaha 242 SE and it gives no info on how to use the map screen. The dealer said it has pre loaded maps of all the water in the US. I’m wondering if anyone knows where to get more info on how to use the map portion. I would like to go to the Bahamas and wondering if I can put that in the map so it can guide me there. Or is that something I would have to buy a hand held device for?

Once updated, the maps are identical to Navionics data but without specific depth detail. Seems the minimum depth is around 8 ft or so and I've done side by side comparisons of the Navionics app on my phone with the Map on the Connext and it's bang on. If you're into fishing and want more detail, you'll want a plotter with sonar, if you just want navigation the Connext does the trick well enough that I'll probably not renew my app subscription.
