Yamaha fiberglass ding questions

Hi all,

Came back from a day on the lake and noticed this damage....not quite sure how it happened. It's below the water line. Sorry for the blurry close up. I've ordered a Spectrum repair kit color coded to my color, but it's going to take a minimum of 2 weeks to even ship.

Is this too deep to get it wet if I wanted to take it out a day or two? Not concerned about leaks, moreso if I've exposed enough fiberglass and it'll absorb water worsening the situation. If so, is there something I could put on temporarily to keep moisture out of it for a few hours in the water here and there until I get the repair kit?

Pretty sure I see fiberglass exposed.

Get a stick of marine epoxy and put a little over the damage. You can sand it off once you have Spectrum paste.

Walmart has JB Weld WaterWeld that should work fine.
