Hey guys new Yamaha owner/well 6 months new. I have a question about the YDIS system for my year boat with the 1.8 engines. So far this SITE with my User Manual and my Service Manual has kept me out of trouble.......the learning curve has been slow but steady getting my old brain up to speed on some vary complex electronic systems.

Has anyone in these years 2010/2013 purchased YDIS software and cabling that you would recommend........ My service manual for 2010 to 2013 list AR SX or 242 limited S as using........ YDIS 60v-85300-04........ 60v-ws850-00-00............Lit-YDIS 1-33-00. THOUGHT I WOULD ASK before I purchase anything? My boat is a 2013 SX240 HO with 1.8's

Any chance you can share that service manual, I've been looking for one for my boat and can't seem to find it

Think I may have found what I need on my year SX240 HO it would appear the YDS software 1.3 go's up to year 2012 after that YDS 2.0 above is 2013 to 2017. Powersports diagnostic has the cable, software, and control box for my year.......237.00 dollars probably about one trip to the dealer to break even on purchase.

I am trying to run YDIS on my 2012 242 Limited and cant get it to work.

I found two sockets that match the end of my YDIS cable behind the steering wheel in the compartment. I have read about updating the database, the net framework on the computer, changing the port setting, and bumping the engine to get it to communicate, but I couldnt get it working. The software seemed to spin the "busy" wheel and hang up.

Can anybody help me with troubleshooting? Am I hooking up in the correct location? Is there something I am missing?

I think I am going to repeat the software installation process and re-try from there.

Thanks.

What version are you using?

The software is V1.33. Of course I installed it on a modern windows 10 computer. I certainly havent ruled that out as the problem.

You have compatibility mode to rule that out.

Usually I have these issues when I have the wrong cable. What cable setup do you have?

I bought a YDIS cable online with software included. It seems to be the correct one. I disconnected the three harnesses from each tachometer and tried the YDIS again to no avail. I didnt disconnect wiring to speedometer - not sure if that would be the deal breaker. I suspect it to be either the port mapping (had to change from com3/4 to com1/2 in windows) or updating the YDIS database which I saw in a video as a necessary step.

I thought about giving up on the YDIS and trying the candoo device. Gonna continue to think on it. Open to suggestions.
