YDS version needed for a 2016 242 limited e series?

Hi!
I keep getting a port check engine alarm, dealer erased it but it keeps coming and wont let me rev the engine more than 6k. I wanted to buy a cable to scan it by my own but the ones I see on ebay are version 1.3 and im not sure they work, anybody knows? If not where can I find the newer versions?

You cant just buy a simple cable on the newer stuff.
This is probably the cheapest diagnostic tool.

You can check with CanDooPro. They offer Yamaha diagnostic equipment. Although I'm only seeing Ski's, and outboards to 2021.

Thanks for the help. Talked to a seller on ebay that has the 1.3 version and says that in a month he will be selling the YDS 2.0 for $99.

YDS 2.0 for $99? Can you elaborate? Did you get your hands on a device that works?

Got the 1.33 version for my 2015 and it does not work. Says it's missing file se2017.dbf.

Maybe an update database would work, if it exists.

I had the same issue... have you found one that works with the 2016 model?
