JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling June 19 to 25 2016

I'm waiting on a quote from state Farm. But it looks like boat us is the one going to have to go with. I'll let you guys know tomorrow. Just finished putting the extra bilge in. Got some interior light to put in. If I can't go that's going to piss me off. Was looking forward to it.

Thanks everyone for the guidance on the painted trailer in salt water question. I'll make some calls this week to marina's in the area for lift prices. If not available or reasonable I'll simply spend some time cleaning the trailer after dropping the boat in the water. This will definitely not stop me from going, that's for sure. Just and ther challenge to overcome.

Guys,

I received an email from Bimini Sands this morning that they have another group starting to book dates that overlap with the end of our trip. If you have not booked yet please do so. The condos are refundable for cancellations up to 2 weeks in advance. So if you are on the fence it may be better to book a condo and back out later than to decide that you want to go later and not be able to find a room.

Instructions for booking your condo are found in the first post of this thread.

@Augusto David Rodriguez, @ThatJeepGuy, @DieselCamel, @JROD, @Manchild, @Glen, @Jose galvez, @justason, @Kevin Sargent, @Jerry Ferrera, @BigJay17,@wadeup, @latitudeadjuster, @Jim Hernandez
We are booked. Unit 21 I think. Not sure we have confirmation on slip. We will confirm unit number for the group and check on slip tomorrow.

@MrMoose Did you get any confirmation from RCI Bahiamar about your reservation? I emailed my form the day you posted it and didn't receive any confirmation. I called them this morning and Sasha told me that I was good but still no written confirmation. I just want to know if anybody else received anything different.

I also emailed the same day but haven't heard or seen anything. I will be calling today to make sure my reservation is good.

@Jr15g , I did not receive a confirmation email this year, nor last. It would be nice to have one. I'll ask Sasha if she could send us one for our records.

Thanks I'm going to give him a call on my way home. State Fram is trying to rob me. I'll advice later today. That's the only thing holding me back. I'm going to make the hard decision tomorrow if I'm going or not. It's killing me.
Boat US is the cheapest at $2400 a year to cover in international waters. So let's see. Thanks again. Passed off

@Jose galvez I'm in search for the best deal on boat insurance too. Ski safe is out and now is between BoatUS and State Farm. My concern with BoatUS is that their representative told me that if I go out to the Bahamas I need to be with another boat and at least it needs to be a 28' For those of you that have BoatUS and are going to Bimini, Have you heard this before? If so what is an alternative option? Your input is highly appreciated.

Here is another great video showing some of the sights in Bimini

This video has some great aerial footage of Bimini Sands along with one unfortunate mooning.

@Jose galvez Wholly cow that seems high. I just went and looked and my coverage for the Yamaha is $458.63 per year. I have two boats and two jet skis and coverage for all 4 with Allstate is $1079.11 per year that quote seems crazy high. Allstate coverage is based on a milage limit from the US coast. Their standard is you are covered with 100 nautical miles of the United States coast line which Bimini falls with in.

„Coverage applies only while the watercraft (or your covered property, if the loss is to your covered property and you have purchased coverage for Your Property) is within the United States or Canada or within 100 nautical miles (10 nautical miles in the case of personal watercraft) off the coast of either. Limitation does not apply to Uninsured Watercraft coverage, if purchased.

That has a Yamaha Jet Boat in it at the end.

Yes they went a few weeks before us last year you can see the boat and two skis docked together in the first video when the arrive at Bimini sands here is the video of the 19ft Yamaha and the two skis going. Man I wish we would have had their crossing weather last year lol.

How many other jetski are running with the group?
We have 5 regular skis, one small sea-doo jet boat and 1 maybe 2 Yamaha Suv skis heading over .....

I *might* be bringing 2 skis @Valerie , Depends what boat I end up with.

@Bruce on your map just off the airport runway you will notice something that appears to be wings in the water this is the second plane wreck. As you zoom into the shore line you will see what looks like a white boat beached but this is actually a wrecked boat on the shore line its just north of that. It almost looks like angel wings in the water directly off the runway in the google maps image. If you have not dived this plane wreck you are missing out its a lot nicer then the other one. It was a twin engine plane with the motors and props still in tact just in front of the wreckage its pretty cools to see.
