Glastron 187 vs 207 - need your opinions

I have the new 187. #loveit. 2 more feet would be nice, but we went with 187 because of price and it fits in my garage.

I am new to this whole forum thing, actually this is the first forum I've ever joined! But I recently purchased a 2014 Gts 187, after a lot of research, and I wanted to weigh in on the boat. Like a lot of people have said, it does handle chop differently and is trickier at low speeds...that being said, once you've had enough practice, it's actually more maneuverable than a stern drive while you're at the dock. I've only just been fishing off my mine so far (waiting for the break in period to be up), but having the rear seating area is "the" spot to be when you're casting out a line. So far I have been very impressed with the boat. It's comforting to know that I can rip across my lake and not have any worry about ripping my leg off on a reef or damaging a very expensive prop. The boat is louder than a stern drive, but I've never been able to have a conversation in any boat that's at cruising speed without yelling. Having driven an 18 foot four winns and then my 19 foot glastron, I can say that both boats handle the bigger waves the same and that is a testament to the glastron hull...so I would imagine going with the 207 would only increase your ride and stability...however, they both have the same engine, so you're going to some performance as well. The 187 is quick but if that engine was in a boat that was considerably heavier, I could see the performance suffering, especially when you get into tow sports. image.jpeg

I love my 187. Best boat, in my opinion. Wakeboarding, riding, hanging out all day, towables, the works. I have the 200hp engine and it is great in lakes and we even go into the ocean with with off Atlantic City, no problems at all, day or night. I would have liked the two more feet, but smaller is easier out of the water. Her is my latest update, blue LED lights throughout for night hang outs.
