changing oil and filter on Boat today. Should trailer or Boat be level? Oil is coming out but very slow. IMG_5767.JPG

Yes, ran it about 5 minutes. It's coming out. Just taking longer than I expected.

Okay, does the oil feel warm? That is usually the only main cause. I think most run maybe 10 min. That's what I did on my ski. I ran it well I got all the tools ready and set up everything.

I leveled my trailer. I have the same pump as you do and had to go back and pumping to add the vacuum.

I assume each line on the tank is a liter? It's 6L capacity but don't see level listed on tank.

Maybe a stupid question but I'm new to boat ownership and maintenance. If you have it out of the water to change the oil how are you supposed to run the motor to warm the oil? I know we have the flush out where you can hook a hose but still didn't think it was good to run the boat out of water for more than a few seconds in order to ensure it doesn't overheat?

I hooked hose to flush out port and ran 5 minutes. No overheat warnings for me. I think you could do it without the water too. 5 minutes isn't long.

Running the boat out of water with the hose connected is fine, just make sure you do the proper procedure. Motor on THEN hose one. Hose off THEN motor off.

I used to use a small POS 4-liter oil extractor for a long time, finally figured it is a one time purchase and got this:

What a difference. I recommend it wholeheartedly, makes the job so much easier.
Also, as you already know, warm up the engines or take the boat out and then do it right after you bring it back still warm.

All done! That was pretty easy. Borrowed the extractor from a friend. Two oil change kits ran me $90. Way better than paying a dealer to do it. Now going to install my cobra ez locks, clean it up a bit and head to the lake. Sunny and 80 here today!

Definitely nice, not big enough for both motors at once.

--
True but I always fill my jug to make sure I put in exactly what I took out per motor so the ability to do both motors at the same time, for me, isn't worth the extra 100 bucks.

Ok I feel like there is something I don't know. I use a small cheap electric extractor just like the link below. It takes a few mintues but it works. Why is everyone else using hand pumps?

XtremepowerUS 12v Fluid Oil Diesel Extractor + Tubes Truck Rv Boat ATV https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AOAFP9C/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_tl.2ybEM14R60
With the extractor that I now have - it is literally no work. Very clean process. I can not imagine wanting to mess with 12v connections instead.
