Hello all, I have been having some major issues with my boat. As you know it has twin 200hp motors. Well one started have some issues. Turns out the exhaust sensors were shot and one was running in limp mode. It must have sucked something up and stopped water from cooling down the exhaust. Not really sure the cause. But what i do know is now, after several hundred dollars, some warranty work and countless hours by the dealer I have these issues still.
  • Portside takes 2-4 tries to start.
  • once started it rattles like crazy till the pump starts sucking in a good amount of water.
  • its RPM is off from the starboard side. Was 200-600 but now its only a few hundred at times
  • Its down on power and speed with glass like conditions( small closed lake)
  • Bilge is kicking on frequently(guessing the heat issues killed the carbon seal)
Any feedback is welcome. I absolutely love this boat even with the issues it has had. Once I get this fixed I truly want to explore some performance mods. Different impellers, Silencer box delete, Riva exhaust, Some more PSI.

Everything you are writing here all points to your jet pumps! Get them inspected--it sounds as if you've sucked something up. As for the bilge kicking on, look for a water leak, or sitting water from rain. If it senses water, it will turn on. What did you spend $700 on?? Please share.

So there were a few items not covered under warranty. The silencer had a leak(not covered) so the labor to fix that. Some other misc labor and 100hr service. Never said 700 though. And yes, it obviously was a clogged pump that heated everything up.
As for the bilge, Port motor had a leaking silencer(not replaced) and the Waterbox has 5 corrosion holes. So... I have since removed the silencer and it sounds amazing. I also ordered two Riva water boxes to replace the corroding ones. I can tell you, performance is back just with the removal of these silencers, I cant wait to see what difference the water boxes make. I spent some time talking to R&D out of Cali and Riva, Both companies offer nothing for this boat, but there are many cross matching parts from the SeaDoo. My first step is the water box, then maybe a new impeller for the jets, then up the boost a bit. They can not verify increase in top speed or power but I will try! Might try a tuner depending on how i like the other upgrades. I am sure that eventually the increases will be nominal. I don't want to dump a whole "boat load" of money as I live on a smaller lake and have no need to do 80 but Ill take 60-65

I hear ya! The silencer? Not sure what that is but only because it's probably the name you're calling it. What year and model is the boat? I know that you can upgrade the impellers in the supercharger for more boost and and add an impeller change. It is reliable and won't break the bank acct. Earlier you had mentioned several hundred dollars, that's why I asked. Are you using any spray lube like the XPS Spray from BRP? That stuff is awesome to use and saves you money on unnecessary repairs from corrosion.

The silencer is between the waterbox and the exit point at the rear of the boat above the pumps.
They are tucked away in the back corner in my boat

My new water boxes should come today or tomorrow. Might have to get some video of what they sound like.

Yes, I use PB blaster anti corrosion spray. But this was from the water box. From the inside out from salt water. I typically did a good job flushing it. But it was a 12hr demo boat so who knows what the dealer did.

Ahhh, it's properly called a resonator. Use the XPS spray, it goes on clear, doesn't stain or change colors, and is safe for any all electronics.

The owner of the dealership, the technician, and the service advisor all called it a silencer. Could be a muffler, resonator, noise cancellation device, boat quieter downer.... nonetheless it was leaking. I bypassed them and the boat has a little more power. And it sounds good.

They only melt when they are run too long out of water without a water supply, and/or you have a blockage. Also, the clamp that holds the exhaust hose onto the resonator usually gets corroded and will snap off under pressure allowing the hose to come off and let lots of water in quickly. I see this mostly on Seadoo ski's not boats.

Started the process of the Riva upgrade.
Ever wonder what the catilitic converter looks like on these boats? It’s surrounded by three water ports for cooling. So salt water guys... flush flush flush!!
