No splitting throttles necessary. Head to the dock at an angle, turn the bow out when you get there, spin the wheel the other direction in reverse and the stern comes right in perfectly. I use the second click of no wake when I dock depending on conditions and just toggle between F N and R.

In the past, the mrs would have to catch a cleat from the bow to make a pivot point. Then I’d turn hard over and reverse. Slowly the stern would come in and wind or wake just make this even worse.

She didn’t even have to lasso a cleat. Just pulled up next to it and brought the stern in.

You can even control the stern in neutral since there is some reverse water flow going under the boat. These makes it so easy to get the boat off and away from the dock at departure. No pushing off. Just bring the stern out a bit, straighten up, and drive away.

I don’t think you’ll get debris stuck in there.

Took all of 25 minutes to install. Use the loctite that is included and give it a day or so to cure and there’s no way these are coming loose on the water.

Highly recommended.

EDIT: This is just LT's vs Full CobraJet Ultimates with single fangs and ONLY reviews reverse between the two.

So I installed these on the 2015 friday and went out friday/sat. I found myself constantly unimpressed on Friday, my 2011 had Cobra Jet Ultimates on it and handled better in reverse with the old school fangs.! (single fang a side)
On Saturday I started to pay more attention and realized that I always have the wheel pointed in the wrong direction. ALWAYS. which means the LT's were doing nothing for me.
I find I have to look backwards all the time to see if I have the wheel turned the right way...!!!
Once I spin it in the right direction then the boat swings perfectly. I guess I just need to train myself to think in reverse and it's going to take some time to unlearn what I had with the fangs.

Once this months cc statement closes I'll be placing my TV order for the 2015. I'm selling the 2011 with the CB's. They work great as a package by themselves and I do not feel the need to mix the products on the new boat. After I have the full JBP setup on the new boat I'll put a full review together.

I find the 2015's keel helps SOME with bow wander but my 2011 had little to no bow wander at low speed after the CBJ.

I guess I'll then be another one of the people that have tried both at that point. Right now my feeling is this on the two systems: it all comes down to how you as a person like to boat. the CBJ were fantastic over the stock level, I am hoping the JBP setup is fantastic over stock. I honestly think it's a Sweet Tea vs Unsweet Tea level difference. Everyone of us has a different "feel" they are looking for, the two systems achieve the same thing with a slightly different feel to how they achieve it.

I bet your fangs are blocking the lateral thrusters. Remove just the fangs and give it a go.

Fangs are on the 2011 boat, not the 2015. Pretty hard to block the LT's when the fangs are sitting on a boat 20 miles away on land. :p

After re-reading I see that you were steering the wrong direction even in the other boat. As long as the thrusters aren’t blocked they will work fine. Docks better than a I/O and outboard.

One thing that helps is to put a small mark on your steering wheel to indicate when the nozzles are perfectly straight. You will reference it all the time. It helps.

Yup.
I need to find some yellow tape like the racecar steeringwheels have. The 2011 wheel was easy to tell "forward/straight" the 2015? good luck. I usually have to swing full left then f ull right to find the middle.

The only time I've heard of someone losing a bolt was when they failed to follow the install procedure and did not reinstall the factory spacer inside the deflector nozzle lower pivot point. If this critical part is not reinstalled the nozzle will vibrate the bolt out while underway. If you install this part correctly, even if you forget the locktite, one of two other redundancies kicks in. The lock washer on the underside of the part makes it difficult to work itself loose and then the fact that when you tighten down the stability straps the part is slightly torqued which essentially gives another lock washer effect. Once again if you forget the spacer none of these redundancies matter. The bolt will come out.

This may have already been addressed on here but, I have TVs that were put on 4 or 5 years ago. Will they be ok with the LTs or do I need to upgrade?

You can use the older TV's but they will need a trim to make them work with the LT's. You can also upgrade to the new Thrust Vectors if you like for $150 for twin or $75 for single. Must return your old set to qualify.

Next question: Will the trimmed older TVs work as well or nearly as well as new ones? What exactly is the difference between legacy and newer TVs besides LT cutouts?

Thanks for the response to my concern. I’ll be placing an order for the lateral thrusters shortly. The only down side is I have to wait until next year to give it a go as the is out in BC for the winter.

I'd say that the new XV's work better in a few different ways. They're larger so more control and the new spray guard makes for a slightly dryer ride for tubers. All in all its a better design.

Does anyone have a copy of the operating instructions for these? Like which way the boat will go with various configurations? My LT came with a card but can't find it

Did anyone else receive a phone call from JetBoatPilot regarding some of the parts which were sent out with the TV being out of spec and that they are sending the proper parts?

Just ordered both Vectors and lateral thrusters! Own the boat for less than a month and already modding. Very thankful that I happened onto this site.
Review will becoming next year when I see the boat again.

Not getting it, it’s no different than the fangs, the boat reverses intuitively with both fangs or LTs. Crank the wheel to the right in reverse and the stern will go right whether you have LTs or fangs. Your confusion makes me wonder if you installed the LTs on the wrong sides so they are backwards (not sure if that is possible though). I actually have both LTs and original fangs on my boat (fangs slight modified at a different angle so they don’t block the LTs)

As for the original standoff not being put back in the nozzle let me expound on this just a bit.
The collar is a standoff, it allows you to tighten the bolts while it makes space for the nozzle to turn freely .
The nozzle actually pivots directly on that standoff.
If it was not reinstalled, once the bolt is tightened the nozzle would be compressed against the top nozzle bolt and pressed tight against the inner nozzle.
This would be immediately noticed as the nozzle would not be able to turn freely, it would also provide evidence by leaving obvious marks on the nozzle by the improper contact .
Yamaha does not use any bushings so the aluminum nozzle rubs directly against that stainless standoff.
Try removing one of the standoffs and reinstall the bolt on any of their nozzles you will notice how it will resist turning due to the improper contact between the parts. This should alert the person that something is wrong.
So after you do an install and can't turn the wheel without great resistance you may want to go look in that area for a mistake.
