Which cipa adapter are you using on the RAM Mounts? I'm liking that option for the port-side window...
I have not used any adapters. The mirror I linked to seems remarkably similar to the ones in E-242Xs (that costs... more).

Thanks. The next time I'm up at the boat I'll try moving that mirror over to the port side.

One other thing I do with that mirror is leave it attached while the boat is in the lake. But when I'm gone from the lake and the towing cover is on it, I swing it down and then put a sliced noodle with a notch cut out of it around the base and on top of the window frame (just to protect the cover).

Mines mounted to the tower "loosely" since the rubber grommet wore out.
I push it up when standing, and pull it down when sitting.
Makes me think there would be a market out there for an adjustable mirror like the swivel gear racks...

When I had a side mount mirror, I would just twist the mirror flat on the round bar when it was in my way. Then when I needed it, I would twist it back down. Then the arm was always locked down solid. It was funny, as I would be driving with what looked to be a soup bowl in my face. But it was just fine.

I believe it was @J-RAD that suggested that.
@J-RAD Sir, I owe you a big THANK YOU!
Can I buy you a beer?

I wish I could take credit. I actually mentioned how I mounted mine to the center window in @Williamsone46 thread https://jetboaters.net/threads/my-2018-242x.16143/page-2#post-281927

I've been very pleased with it here. Great visibility and flips out of the way with the window. Not so handy if you frequent leave your window open, but ours is usually closed.

My only complaint about this mirror is that a week ago when I uncovered the boat I found double stick tape holding the mirror (the actual glass part of the mirror) had failed and was laying on the carpet. Probably due to the heat. I cleaned off the old crap and used Gorilla mounting tape to reinstall it. All good now!

I’ll let u know

I dont believe they have any blems on the mirror that work on the new yamahas. They just made mine this year from my measurements. I tried both of the ones they said worked for yamaha but they were both to short so scott ended up making mine from scratch

I moved my factory tower mirror arm to the port side today and attached a new cipa 180 mirror. Outstanding result. I can see much more than I could before, and it's not in my face. Should have been that way from the factory. I'll try to grab a picture tomorrow. Thanks to whoevers idea it was. :winkingthumbsup"

@swatski What mirror mount are you using?
I looked up the CIPA 180 and want to mount it on the passenger side as you did. It's perfect placement to me. (I like to stand or sit on the bolster in the 2015)

Here is what I got https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QJ6Y960/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The mirror is FANTASTIC. I love it on the passenger side. The mount/clamp is not ideal but holds fine (mine survived 1+ year and a Bimini ride).

What I am amazed at is that the mirrror is $75 by itself.
So the mount which you say is "not ideal" is $100?
Wonder what other mounts work better. (for possibly a better price)

Ooooo.. pictures please? How do you like it? Does it position it in a good place over head? I've been looking for a tower arm that would work but only one I could find was over $300.
Boat is wet slipped about 90 minutes away - but I think we are going Monday so I'll get a real pic.

Huh! I didn't think of it, as I just bought the combo (mirror and the mount). But it does not surprise me the mount is expensive.
I am okay with it, this mount efforts the CIPA180 somewhat limited range but enough in my case to give me full view. And full view it is! Make sure you get that mirror, no smaller. It is the bomb. I find it so useful, not only for watersports, but also when running in a congested channel, you really are not missing anything coming at you from behind or from a side.

BTW -
This is a view from the driver seat in mine - I couldn't be happier.

Yes - I followed your advice a while back and moved my mirror to the passenger side. Thanks for that, SOOO much better then the in-your-face stock position. It works fine like this but personal preference would be to have it back on drivers side above/in front of me if I could get it up higher out of the way so my head isn't blocking the view.
