Was on our way to the lake Saturday morning and got off the highway to fill up the boat. Going through an intersection and someone wasn't paying attention, decided to turn into my lane and said she didn't see my boat (hard to realize since it's bigger than my car - I tow with a VW Touareg). This is what happened to my trailer:

And this is what happened to her car:

Thankfully no one was hurt. We ended up continuing on to the lake - about an hour away and had a good day on the water. The only thing I'm concerned about is potential issues with the suspension on the trailer but it towed fine. No visible damage to the suspension, just bent the fender and the step piece and broke the led light on that piece as well. Still going to have it looked at to make sure nothing else is wrong, especially since it was her fault and her insurance will foot the bill.

Glad to hear no injuries and no interruptions to your boating. Looks like an after season fix.

Glad no one was hurt but I'm really surprised at the amount of damage to her car. Damn near ripped the front end off the car.

How do you not see something that's 20+ft long and 8+ft tall? That's an impressive amount of obliviousness.

Her front wheel was bent at an angle as well so definite suspension damage. I felt bad for her, she wasn't local and had been driving for several hours and probably not fully alert. I patched the front end together for her as best I could so she could drive it but told her not to drive very far since there was definite suspension damage. I was surprised that my trailer didn't have more damage and that's why I'm concerned about the suspension even though it looks ok and towed fine.

A boat is easy to miss when you are checking your phone for a text or responding to one... Jus sayin.

But glad everyone is ok.
