Found a 2021 AR195 need some quick advise.

Ok guys and Gals. A dealer just called me on a 2021 AR195, the original customer backed out of the deal. I feel like the dealer is asking way over what I expected, $46,500.00 OTD for a AR195. He is asking for a refundable $1000 deposit to hold the boat for 48 hrs. I have a refundable deposit on a SX195 at a different dealership and that boat will cost me $39,465 OTD. But who knows when that boat will show up. My current finnancing is for 60 days and expires in two weeks.
Red flags
#1 Who puts down a deposit on a boat and then doesnt pick it up? is that common?
#2 Is this dude jacking up the price or is the boat worth the extra dough? Moneys not the issue, I just dont want to get screwed on the deal.

If you want it now, go for it. 3-4K is the less than the rental on a beach house for a week If you would enjoy having the boat now and are not looking at gain/loss when you sell it, buy it now. The question comes down to what it is worth to you to have the boat now.

What is the price breakdown? That seems a little high for a boat that seems to retail just under $40k MSRP.

Just my napkin math here but:
$40k MSRP
$2k Freight/prep
$2k tax (5% here in MD)

That's $44k. What else are they charging you?

Seems high - maybe a counter in the $42-43k range is in order

Its definitely on the high side. I can boat year round, but will likely boat 8 months out of the year. Im going to try and talk him down to a better deal. I have no doubt that my other boat will come in. The two biggest obsticals Im facing are 1 keeping my wife on board and 2 my financing is probably going to expire before the boat shows up. The wife gave me a green light if I stay under 45k and get the deal done before my financing expires. As you can see time is not on my side.

Can you have them extend your financing, maybe a phone call explaining the situation. Not sure it is viable, but I have done something similar in the past for a different type of purchase. GL

I tried having them extend the pre aproval last week, they would not budge.

dont forget your service plans and extended warranty. couple grand now is 20-30 bucks a month with finance. get the boat. plus that tower with bimini top is nice. looks cool too

I was litteraly online working a deal with the other dealership for the AR. Im going to stick with my original game plan and wait for the sx. Its the boat I realy want.

OTD in Arkansas on my 2021 AR195 was $43,839. This included boat, painted trailer, dealer prep, freight, Arkansas registration and sales tax.

Dude thats awesome timing @Johnboat! Still no words on my AR195. Last I spoke with my dealer they specifically used the word "confirmed" but didn't say "confirmed and ready for shipping". But regardless, glad you finally got some good news! Did they have an ETA on a ship date?

He gave me a window of 10 days, but told me anything could happen if the trucks stop running. He explained that the boat was built and sitting in the shipping yard. The boat will not get a tracking number untill it is scanned a loaded on a truck. When the tracking number is issued we will have the dilivery date.

More good news. I was worried about my pre aproval expiring before the boat was delivered and then having to start that process over again. My dealer Eddie at Parker Boats in Amarillo was able to get me Yamahas teir 1 rate on financing. 2% better rate than my credit union! Not sure why he didnt offer that to me before yesdterday... Keeping me on the hook i guess, but hey for 2% Ill bite.
