That anode looks brand new. An anode is considered end of life when its 50% dissolved.

Just to confirm that when checking today in the daylight, there's definitely no anode on the ride plates anywhere. The only one I can find is the large one on the side of the jetpump like in the above post.
So you do not see an unpainted S.S. philipshead screw looking from the bottom, on the ride plate section aft of the intake grate?

My anodes after one season wet slipped in salt water. They were brand new when I dropped the boat back in June this year. Left side is the Yamaha anode. Right side is an additional Zinc anode 9281F94E-B821-49DC-AC16-12BFF5511F62.jpeg041A1A6D-508A-4184-820C-DD6121BAC054.jpeg

Fellow Canuck here east of you around the Kingston/1000 Islands area. @Canuckjetboater is also a new jetboat owner a little further east of us and might have some insight to how well his slipped boat did this past summer?

No experience either yet with corrosion - we bought our first jetboat this summer too but we trailer so no corrosion at all here. Sounds like @zipper might be on the right track here - if the anodes are missing or badly corroded it would contribute to the pitting on the plates. Aluminum isn't hard to work with though so refinishing should be a viable option.
@212s ......finally visited our boat in heated storage today and took some pictures. The guys on here will probably laugh their a$$es off when I say I am going to replace this anode -or - i might keep it for one more year if I add a magnesium anode to the other side. But, usually I chuck them at the first signs of "action" and definately if there some pitting. Yes, OCD for sure. Soooo- this anode will be replaced because i do not like the surface corrosion that has occurred. Could I put it on a grinding wheel, I guess ! could.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that anode. Thats what it is supposed to look like. Putting on a freshie wont gain you anything. You can wire wheel or sand it but the surface finish means nothing

Not that I can see on the bottom, and inside the top of the ride plate there's nothing there either. I think it's just a different design as the pumps and plates are slightly different now. Same components inside, but manufacturing improvements perhaps? I think I read somewhere that the pumps changed slightly some years ago.

That has more wear than mine but still barely worn - like @mrcleanr6 said, a wire wheel would make it nice and smooth again. I'd be more concerned about any corrosion on the pump housing, and if there is none, then another anode is probably not needed.
