That anode looks brand new. An anode is considered end of life when its 50% dissolved.

So you do not see an unpainted S.S. philipshead screw looking from the bottom, on the ride plate section aft of the intake grate?Just to confirm that when checking today in the daylight, there's definitely no anode on the ride plates anywhere. The only one I can find is the large one on the side of the jetpump like in the above post.
@Damsroy WOW.....anodes owed a big thank you. That is graphic evidence!!!!! BTW where did you get the Magnesium anode? Did you modifty one ....any ordering info or part#? ThxMy anodes after one season wet slipped in salt water. They were brand new when I dropped the boat back in June this year. Left side is the Yamaha anode. Right side is an additional Zinc anode View attachment 135612View attachment 135610
Not that I can see on the bottom, and inside the top of the ride plate there's nothing there either. I think it's just a different design as the pumps and plates are slightly different now. Same components inside, but manufacturing improvements perhaps? I think I read somewhere that the pumps changed slightly some years ago.So you do not see an unpainted S.S. philipshead screw looking from the bottom, on the ride plate section aft of the intake grate?
That has more wear than mine but still barely worn - like @mrcleanr6 said, a wire wheel would make it nice and smooth again. I'd be more concerned about any corrosion on the pump housing, and if there is none, then another anode is probably not needed.@212s ......finally visited our boat in heated storage today and took some pictures. The guys on here will probably laugh their a$$es off when I say I am going to replace this anode -or - i might keep it for one more year if I add a magnesium anode to the other side. But, usually I chuck them at the first signs of "action" and definately if there some pitting. Yes, OCD for sure. Soooo- this anode will be replaced because i do not like the surface corrosion that has occurred. Could I put it on a grinding wheel, I guess ! could.
