I would like to go to an unveiling as well.
I really messed up this year. If I would have known that it was Miami, I could have worked my way in. I know a guy at the FB .....maybe I'll pay for cell pics of the boats during setup!

What would be really cool would be an extended swim deck attached to our current swim deck. Like those 3' platforms on the back of MasterCrafts. And then a Cobolt flip down step in the middle of the platform. Man - that would be cool.
I sure hope they don't do that. :(

The 240 tower folds back about 45 degrees. The red one has a suspension arm break on the back leg. It's going to fold up about 120 degrees between the break. * edit* upon 2nd look
Unless it doesn't have a break and it's on a rail system.

Sure looks like it to me, maybe they straightened it out gave it a higher freeboard... Looker different to me
I think higher freeboard would be a good thing. In my opinion the one drawback of the newer Yamaha's is that the bow sits so low in the water. on our 2007 boat we occasionally take waves over the front. the newer designs with the lower bow have always concerned me. They may be great for lakes but not so much for big water.

From that angle the rear platform of AR240 looks the same as current model.

A good forum member would have done a u-turn on I-40, run 120mph to catch the semi & followed him to the truck stop for better pics. Lol

You could add a teak platform to the back of the existing swim deck. I am sure it would drag in the water when accelerating but the LX210 swim platform does that without any issue.

Would love to see a higher freeboard, too, but think it may just be the angle. Here's an overlay on the same image with slight rotation to correct for the original image not being level. Bummer.

I would love it if the bow didn't "dip" down. More straight would be great by me!

Man...the freeboard on these boats is pretty dang high already around the cockpit. I was glad when they actually lowered the helm and copilot side under the windshield in 2010. The bow area is lower to the water now and as much as I thought that would suck, it works pretty well too. But it is easy to view things from different perspectives, what would you like to see it higher for and where? Oh...and welcome to the forum @Pointblank !

The tower on the black one looks interesting. It does look like the bow dip is gone/greatly reduced as well. Wish we could see the drives to see if they have some kind of external steering aid on them.

I love all this speculation, when all we are likely to get are some color changes, or new stickers... Do you guys think a patent filed in Nov 2012 and approved in May of this year would be quick enough to get into production already?

They have probably been testing it for 3 years. Filed the Patent after a year of r and d, and started production a year after that. So, yes they are ready to produce it.
