So ran the boat today (2016 AR240) no issues. Got to the cove and anchored for a few hours. Went to start the port engine, it fired but immediately threw a code, cranked the starboard and it would not turn over. Switched to both batteries and it cranked for a while then started. Port engine had idle power only and starboard had enough to chug me home at 8MPH, no overheating codes or oil pressure codes and clean ports, no obstructions. I left the port engine in idle to avoid water intrusion. Code is Yamaha Diag 144 (low voltage mode) OBD Diag 52 1329 (cant find this one) So checked my batteries and they are pretty toast, they are on year 5 so I am not surprised. So question is, will dead batteries cause this behavior? Felt like boat was in some form of limp mode.

Yeah, will replace this weekend. Just wondering if anyone has seen this. I'll report back.

We have seen low voltage cause all sort of issues, especially with connext boats

I have 2018 AR210 , and all summer I have been having an issue starting my boat. Sometimes one engine or both, won't turn over easily and I have to switch off, reboot and try again. However this past Labor day weekend, after we had finished tubing with the kids, I tried to restart the engines to head back to the dock, and the same Error message YDIS code 144 (low voltage mode) OBDS Code 52 1329 come up on both engines. At full throttle, could only get the boat up to 2600rpm and limped back to the dock at about 5 mph. I haven't had any issues with my batteries before ( 3 yrs old) and I have always kept them charged during the winter. Did changing out your batteries work? Did the issue go away? By any chance do you not think it is the Stator, as it seems to be fine at the start of the day, and after running the boat for a few hours than seems to have the issues of restarting and than ultimately throwing the error message YDIS code 144 (low voltage mode) OBDS Code 52 1329?

I ended up getting the same exact code yesterday. Starboard was running rough and I could not get the RPM’s up (yes, it seemed like “limp” mode”). Decided to finally switch out the original batteries (got 6 seasons out of them!!) for two new ones. Cleared up the problem immediately. Both engines started and ran smoothly. Took it out for a run and literally had zero issues. Battery change out - who would have known. As they say, you learn something new everyday.

Yes - (‘16 242 SE). Got same codes, read this thread and decided the try new batteries. Cleared it right up.

Hi guys,
On my AR210 I have one battery only. My port engine starts fine but starboard engine won't. After trying for a while when started, I get a ydis- code 144 and obds code 52-1329. I also see a lot of smoke coming from the starboard engine. Any thoughts?

Extremely weird and unusual occurrences start happening when the system(s) are not receiving proper grounding and fully charged and in good condition batteries. Its a good idea to disconnect and inspect the battery terminals from time to time and clean the oxidation from the wire terminals. I get creeping rust and green oxidation.

After checking the wire terminals (no rust or corrosion found) ran the boat again in water for over any hour. No codes and both engines run beautifully.... strange indeed
