I finally able to order Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 80# 60 shaft w iPilot and should receive it next week. Looking for tips on install, I am pretty comfortable with electrical and wiring so no help needed there (for now lol). I'm looking for tips on mounting it in the factory aluminum mount and the quick release mount from minn kota (quick release mounted on factory mount that will be bolted to the boat). My factory aluminum mount did not come with a bolt/screws, any tips on what size to get? Are the pre-drilled holes sufficient enough or should I drill additional hole for it to be totally secured?

Other stuff:
Undecided between AGM and LifePO lithium. Tough to shell out $1600 for two new batteries but I have a week to decide :(
I messed up, I just installed NocoGenius 5x2. Now I will need another one for the trolling motor batteries. No big deal I can live with 2 charger.

@fatboyroy Did you get the MinnKota Plug for your boat?

Amazon.com : Minn Kota 1865128 MKR-26 Freshwater and Saltwater Motor Plug and Receptacle Marine Battery Accessory : Sports & Outdoors

And a a 60 amp Circuit Breaker?

Amazon.com: Minn Kota 1865106 MKR-19 Waterproof Circuit Breaker Marine Motor Accessory, 60 Amps: Sports & Outdoors

In retrospect, I am not a big fan of the above circuit breaker, I would probably use one that I could manually trigger to off if I so desired and may replace mine at a future date.

Also the little cotter pin that comes with the quick release mount is Crap. Lost mine before I even got out on the water the first day. I purchased a couple of these.

Amazon.com: Stainless Steel 316 Lynch pins Linch Pin Dia 4.3mm(3/16in) x L 43mm(1-2/3in) with Ring 4pcs: Home Improvement

I am still in the process of looking for a padded carry/storage bag, since it is cumbersome to hoist around and if I need to take it out of the boat.

I already have the 60amp circuit breaker on order along with battery from basspro. I will order the plug and the pin. Thanks

The pins you can get from local hardware cheaper.

Without the plug it is a direct wire scenario, plug made it a breeze.

@fatboyroy Looks great. Solid battery choice, at least they work great from what I have seen.

Would recommend you switch out the wood base for Starboard or other waterproof product. Wood, unless treated and sealed could have issues with the humidity and water absorption. At least that is what I did. I have 3/4" Starboard under mine. On my boat the batteries are back under the Starboard Rear seat and I felt that that the air and dampness could pool up back there.

I had straps on mine, like yours and didn't like the way they wobbled. We do a lot of watersports, plus encounter some sizeable chop and the boat gets bounced around good at times. I purchased two of these and secured the base down to the starboard with 3/4" Stainless steel screws. Holds the battery snug and sturdy. Just a thought.

I also used this to connect the batteries. A bit spendy, but easy to hook everything up and if I need to take the batteries out for any reason I just disconnect each at the connector and they come out. Could of done it with just wiring, but I liked the simplicity and clean look of it. Connect trolling motor and battery chargers to the ends and then heat shrink. I didn't buy it from here but this is the one I used. I think maybe got it from either West Marine or Bass Pro.

I treated the wood, while I'm waiting for the mount, i have it extended through machine shop. I was at west marine they didnt have size 27, will see how it works, I could always add it. I do not do watersports, just fishing so it may work for me.

I already have the wire that I would also use to extend the cable to the trolling motor, thanks for sharing98BB5268-B713-425E-AB06-EC968C019240.jpeg

Installed battery and charger yesterday I painted the trolling motor bracket but it got rained on outside while my lazy ass fell asleep I had to repaint it again. Hopefully finish this install next weekend, I will use double sided 3M for the noco charger instead of bolting it in CAAD1FA8-2A3E-4012-BAD3-F7F7A3D9F0A3.jpeg7E6677DF-54D8-4C34-86BB-19EA316A4733.jpeg6FAC512B-46C6-4FB3-8175-CFC16558026D.jpeg

Very excited to see how it turns out! Just wondering, do you have a goal for a top speed?

No im happy with the speed, I usually just use the boat to chill at the water and go fishing. Mine tops out 35mph @7500 rpm (1 ft wave). Not even sure if that's normal but i'm all good with it. That's the only time did WOT trying to beat a storm to get back to the inlet.

oh I dont know I hope it will hold me from ocean current using GPS spot lock, that's pretty much what I need it for. For trolling I can use the boat engine, my No wake mode/Cruise assist holds a pretty steady 5mph. I don't fish in high current rivers so I think I will be ok. Once installed I can tell you the speed. Others that have installed same setup for 19ft says 3-3.5mph tops if I remembered correctly.

I've been contemplating an excessive concept with dual electric motors mounted beneath the swim deck...
