2015 242 Limited S First Impressions w/ Pics and Video

And thank you for the great write up and photos. That boat is gorgeous! I love that color and the white tower.

Great review. You mentioned the turning radius being larger. Does that apply when the boat is virtually stopped? Can you spin the boat in its own length?

Funny you mention that because that was a huge concern of mine too. We took it and put it in our marina, in some good wind no less, and she performs just like the previous ones.

You're making it very hard to not like this boat in gray. I have run out of objections...besides price.

Great write-up and thank you for posting it. That said, you have me wanting to upgrade now. Damn this forum!

We were all sitting around my computer when the new site went live during the premiere and when that Suede Gray 242 popped up we all said Ohhhh Yeahhh! I ordered more of the gray than any other color. Something about that and the white tower along with the boot stripe that just makes it a classy looking boat.

Can you have it equipped with a porta-potty from yamaha as Randy Vance stated in his initial review?

@CYCLEsPRINGS has installed pump out toilets in the 240 series.

We use a roughly $100 port a potty.

Not sure if I would prefer the process of hooking a pump out hose to the boat vs removing the port a potty and dumping it in the toilet.

@Bruce , after empting my portable this past weekend and wanting to puke, I think I would opt for a pump out! lol

Inside the helm pic, so much cleaner!!! Along with some bimini shots. One thing I forgot to note on the tower- Integrated Anchor Light! Well overdue IMHO.

That looks like an amp in there!!

@Ziess21 Thank you for the very insightful review!

That's the Murphy brain for the touch screen. It makes it much cleaner in there for sure.

so does the tow rope on the tower go below the bimini?
No, it definitely goes above. There is a small zippered relief though so you can hook/unhook the rope easily, that's a nice touch.

Pardon me. I need to go get some paper towels to mop off the keyboard. Too much drool....

@Ziess21 , thank you!

Well that settles that.... New video coming tomorrow morning on the screen setup then.

Any other vids you guys want to see?

Yeah, one with me driving that sweet puppy...

Damn I wish my Yamaha were as quiet as that. Once you get underway with hardly any throttle at all conversation becomes impossible and even the stereo can't keep up. In your video you could actually hear the water churning at the stern behind the engines . . . . massive improvement! About time Yamaha, this was LONG past due!

We like dealers and want you to participate in the forum.

Could you post pictures of the door to access the helm area and perhaps the inside? I am curious how this area has changed.

Thanks

Here is another view.
