Bargain! Makes sense$60 to change. If I'm going to pull and inspect then I would just change.
So when I took it to the dealer and they showed me the work order it said they were changing them so I didn’t argue—for the price they charged they damn sure better have. But when I checked the owner’s manual it said only to inspect at the 10 hour service interval.Good call..
I’m actually surprised why they changed them. I don’t believe that’s called for in the manual.
I have 160 hours on my 2021 255X and I haven’t needed to change them (you should be able to tell easily if they’re due)
happy boating
I feel ya..So when I took it to the dealer and they showed me the work order it said they were changing them so I didn’t argue—for the price they charged they damn sure better have. But when I checked the owner’s manual it said only to inspect at the 10 hour service interval.
Yea I wanted to get the first maintenance done for warranty purposes but from here on out I can do it all.I feel ya..
Many on this forum (if not most) have reached the conclusion that we’re better off doing our own maintenance ourselves for the following reasons:
1) Yamaha boats maintenance is minimal and engine layout makes it all very easy to do on your own
2) many have had very bad experiences with the dealerships (including myself)
3) Last, but not least, this forum is very helpful. Anything you need, people have either covered or will, very quickly, compete to help you
