Dogs and boats?

It works great. Keep it on the swim platform on the riders side of the boat and it definitely helps with the wake shape!
;)

Anybody has experience with a 150lbs Great Dane? Still debating about brining ours.

50lb Lab/Boxer/Mutt mix here.......Great dog, loves the water and protects the boys like the precious cargo they are. She does great on the boat, no issues with anything other than hair. Sheds a TON, but dries quick. She's like a barking micro-fiber rag really.

Once we're in the water she doesn't know how to just "float along" so we have to hold her like a toddler. She'll sit like this for as long we we'll let her though. No whining, barking, or squirming, just sitting up floating along with us.

Our new doggy loves the boat, but we can't get him to jump in the lake. Hopefully he will start soon so he won't get so hot on the boat20220814_143451.jpg20220820_104850.jpg20220820_110107.jpg

Maybe it's better if he doesn't jump off the boat? Are you able to lead him to the platform and coax him into the water?

Jim

I can lead him to the swim platform, but cannot coax him into the water. He just doesn't want to go in.

Look up the Pup Plank by Solstice. Bought one earlier this year and made such a difference for our golden retriever. Loves the water but is a chicken getting in and out. This way he gets in/out when he wants while at anchor.

That is awesome. I would make the investment if he would even get in the water from the shore. We just got a new floating mat that was on sale at Sam's Club. The first day we used it, he went out on it with no problem when we first rolled it out. Never went back out on it.

I have a miniature wiener dog, and he does just fine on the boat and seats. He usually falls right asleep when the boat is moving and his ears flop like he is about to take flight.

Dogs have settled in on the boat.

New member of the crew!
Everyone meet Gus (Gustav)!
He's a 1 year old German Shorthaired Pointer that we rescued last week.
Unfortunately we're done boating for the season, so we're hoping that when Spring comes, he'll love boating and swimming as much as his family does (and Wolfgang did :( )!!
