@txav8r When we had our travel trailer, we bought an adapter that went on the grey outlet (grey only!) and you hooked a water hose to it and it would drain as it filled. Since this is sink water, shower water, etc...no waste...we just ran it away from the campsite

We've got and do the same thing on ours. Just be carefull on when and where you do it. In Texas state parks it's posted no dumping of grey water allowed. I usually do it at night as long as we're in a wooded site. I've never gotten in trouble for it, but I'm careful when and where I do it. Besides, we've been in such a drought lately the trees could really use a drink.

If you are in a location where you can dump grey, make sure when you leave that you have some grey on board to rinse the hose after you dump your black at the dump station. You only make that mistake one time!

Valterra T58 Twist-On Waste Valve https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BGHYJS/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_Fgoavb0VQ52PB

Camco 39572 5" Clear Sewer Hose Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00192KZQ2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_3ioavb0XM5KQ9

I have the water hose adapter mentioned above as well, I actually use that as my cap all the time. I have this extra valve on the outlet, this lets me move the gray into the black tank like I mentioned earlier in the thread.
I have the clear adapter attached to the inlet end of my sewer hose so I can see when the tank is cleaned out....

Congrats on the me rig Mel. The guy I bought my sx230 from used to launch and recover it with an Rv Like that sometimes, said he was the center of attention at the boat ramp whether the launch and/or recovery was good or not.

I borrow an RV every summer, my friend does everything from parking it to dumping the waste at the end of the weekend, I think dumping the waste would be the only part I would dislike.

Ha ha! @Ronnie , yeah, I dont "like" cleaning the toilet at home either! Dumping one of these isn't too bad, it is certainly not as bad as dumping a porta potty! It is all contained so it isn't too big a deal, but it is still a shitty job!

@txa8r Also recommend an electrical portable surge breaker. Not all campground power blocks are created equal. It will protect your vehicle from surge spikes or poorly wired electrical posts. Cost around $250 to $350 but well worth the money. It can save your converter and or appliances.

The bus has many options and accessories that the previous owner sold with it. I have the 50a surge protector, 30 to 50a pigtail, and a 110 converter. Also have water pressure regulator and full coach filtration as well as drinking water filtration. We will still need a few things I am sure. Oh, also have a blue ox towbar for the toad when needed.

Yeah buddy...ROAD TRIP!

I'll tell you what, the folks at McClain's RV superstore sure do a nice job. Brandon just told me that they authorized a reseal of my roof. They said it didn't have any leaks, but they wanted it to start fresh. He said it was being detailed now, so it ought to be ready for Saturday morning!

Thanks Danny, we will have to take you and Cheryl for a ride when we make it out to California! Not sure when that will be, next fall, we are going to hit Powell for a week and also get to Bryce Canyon and Zion. We may cover a few more places along the way as we work our way out and back, but to do all that in 2 weeks may be too much anyway. I want to see Powell and get to Rainbow Bridge and Dangling Rope Marina, but every time I look at the map of the lake, I cringe thinking of covering 50 miles each way that day. My guess is, we won't go out that far except to do that particular run. After that, boating and sightseeing closer to Wahweap may be the norm. I am looking into logistics now regarding staying in the RV park @utahrd , and the walk to and from the marina, with Chester. It may be better to rent a car and leave it in the marina parking lot to go back and forth. We shall see. @DawgDaze @Suchawittygal That sure is a good looking rig you have there with a Dawg following you!

@txav8r I have been MIA the last few days. Needless to say, all this talk about your new rig and road-trippin is very exciting. I thought you Texans weren't afraid of big... 50 miles is no biggie in your Jetboat....cruisin at 8500 rpm, warm sun on your skin, probably the most physically spectacular scenery you have ever seen, the time flies. Having an ice cream at Dangling Rope is a special privilege. I know that once you see Powell, you will make it an annual excursion...it's just TOO GOOD.

With regard to distance from RV park to the marina....close enough that its walkable, far enough that you groan just a little bit. Nevertheless, It only takes about 10 or 15 minutes to walk from the RV sites to the marina. I do it with a cooler filled with 40 to 50 lbs of fish all the time (rolling cooler that is). They do run a shuttle from the RV sites to the marina, so you could always do that as well.

How about this view from the RV sites...

You can't mess up an RV site booking at Wahweap...They are all MASSIVE, LEVEL PADS big enough for motorhome, trailer, boat and car with full -hookup.

More to come...

Cheers! Jon

Well thank you Mel! We look forward to your California trip! Lake Powell sounds like a fun trip. We will have to look into the logistics of it very soon. We haven't had an actual road trip yet other than the local lakes so it should be fun! Tomorrow is the big day! Text me some pictures!

Yes, 9AM tomorrow, financing done, insurance done...full coverage at what it would cost me to replace it, and get this...$88/month! I will take pics!

@utahrd , the shuttle sounds good! I don't mind the walk down, it is the walk back up that sounds bad! I have to get reservations for the RV park there, and any place in-between for the trip. Also a marina slip. I would love to slip at Antelope, and save half of that washing machine ride each day. I guess I can keep my fingers crossed that the cut is open, but I won't plan on it, not much snow out there this year, bet is isn't open in September. But it won't matter, we will have a blast. Now, about a handheld VHF...will that work or do you have to have a mounted unit with antenna? I know there is not cell towers up the lake.
