2010 MFI Trailer will not release brakes in reverse

It is fairly easily to determine if the solenoid is bad. If you have a jumper battery box, then you can use it to listen for a click when you sent a charge to the solenoid. Ground the jumper box to the trailer (black cable). The blue wire on you trailer plug is usually the positive wire to the...

2010 MFI Trailer will not release brakes in reverse

Are you sure there is not a solenoid inside the actuator housing? I was under the assumption that all the MFI trailers came with at least one set of disc brakes. Any trailer with disc brakes must have a reverse solenoid to direct the brake fluid back around to the master cylinder while backing...

2010 MFI Trailer will not release brakes in reverse

I just finished that whole process. If you replace the solenoid, you will need to bleed the brakes to remove the air from the lines back to the calibers. After many failed tries to get all the air out, I found that the factory installed calibers were upside down causing air to be trapped in the...

    MFI Trailer Calibers Upside Down

Might not make any difference until or unless you have to change something like the master cylinder or backup solenoid where you get air in the line that far forward.

    MFI Trailer Calibers Upside Down

I had to bleed the brakes due to a new backup solenoid I had to install.. I could not get all the air out so I took the trailer to an expert who showed me that one set of calibers were put on upside down at the factory. The bleeder valves were on the bottom causing air to be trapped in the line...

Is this a new way to remove stuck cleaning plugs??

What was funny was I don't think he gave a crap. The boat kept going up and down as he tried to blow the plugs.

Is this a new way to remove stuck cleaning plugs??

I suggested that to him. He said that was a good idea but he said he didn't have time for that and proceeded on.

Is this a new way to remove stuck cleaning plugs??

On Saturday, I met another Yamaha boater getting ready to launch his boat in the river. He asked me if I knew a way to remove his clean out plugs he had left in for a long time. I suggested he lubricate them and try a rope and board above them. He then said he would just release the lock on them...

Extended YES Warranty after 5 years

The small one in the front of the boat broke when my heavy 112lb daughter stepped on it. Two of the cushions on the engine cover came apart at the seams.

Extended YES Warranty after 5 years

Under the 1st YES warranty I had both oil coolers replaced and 3 cushions replaced. I assume that if I had to pay for that it would have cost as much as the warranty.

Extended YES Warranty after 5 years

Yamaha just offered me a 1 or 2 year warranty beyond the 5 year period for $ 1350 for 1 year or $ 1580 for 2 years. My initial 5 year YES warranty is up in August. Has anyone else gone for the second warranty offer? If so, was it worth it?

    MFI Trailer Brake Parts

I need to replace the brake bleeder valve on one of my caliber's. I found out that I needed to know the brand of caliber. I called MFI and was told they use the calibers made for KIA cars. I not sure if this topic has been discussed before, but if it was I missed it. My question is, what brake...

    MFI Trailer Issue

The answer to the question does it work now is YES. You can hear a distinct clicking sound when the reverse is activated. I also backed it up an incline with no problem. The worst part was still the removal of the brake line. It is a poor design. The wound occurred when the socket I was using...

    MFI Trailer Issue

One broken tool, one stripped bleeder valve, and a large cut above the eye and 3 hours and 40 minutes later I'm done. Ronnie was right about the clips being a bitch. The ring tool broke off as I was putting the last clip on. The worst part was removing the brake line hose at the solenoid. It is...

    MFI Trailer Issue

The solenoid is a separate unit. I took a picture of it to the dealer so he could order the right one. I may try and squeeze it out. I may be lucky or may be not, but again Ronnie thanks very much for the advice.
