    Oil Pressure light

Hi, did you replace it? Did this address your issue? Thanks!

    2nd bilge pump question

Second pump will still add immense value even if it drains only water that is slightly higher than the old one. Are you adding a float? A little water is not a big deal, but no alarm and no float are a problem, you want to know the boat is flooding/taking in water as early as possible

    2007 Yamaha SX230 HO

If tech was able to replace head gasket, he should be able to troubleshoot a non start condition. Spark, fuel and air. You need someone with a YDS (Yamaha cable to interface with computer) to confirm what the engine ECM is thinking and what might be preventing the start.

He had the block pressure tested to confirm no crack.

Water in oil 2007 AR210 help!!

Engine flood, or exhaust jacket gasket are possible intrusion points that could explain it, and are somewhat compatible with what you have seen. Just use new gaskets when reassembling (sorry, had to be said, I know you will) and all should be fantastic. When I did a similar overhaul of my...

    Another carbon monoxide death

At some point we need to let it ride. Many things can be made safer, but there is an element of freedom and personal responsibility that is also at play. If we can eat oysters and ride a bike without a helmet legally, I think we can forgo the weight sensor for the rear deck.

    Another carbon monoxide death

What readings have you seen? And what are you doing when it triggers to help clear it? Very informative!!! Thanks for sharing.

    Another carbon monoxide death

I remember as a kid the smell of 2 cycle oil while trolling. With the wind against you and low speed it makes sense in some cases the vapors can linger. With the very big rear deck on our Yamahas, fumes are way back while underway. I wondered after reading the article if we might benefit with a...

    Battery Reccomendations

I think it greatly depends on how much you draw the battery down and how many hours you run your boat between uses. I would challenge the wording and say It's not a dry stack problem as much as it is a "More draining than charging problem."

    FSH195S battery replacement suggestions

3 years OK, 5+ Excellent out of a battery. Most big store ones are made by Johnson control. Group 24, dual purpose or deep cycle. Sub 100$. Use the savings on fuel and food and drinks for the outing :) Between winter and forgetting to turn something off, they will survive one or 5 deep...

even if the rear hatch is removed? Speaker hole as suggested might be another entry point. best of luck.

    Drystack?

Dry Stack is awesome, just beware of the limitations on time, and you must be comfortable leaving it in the water if you come in too late/after they close until they re-open to take it out. If you can afford it, it's the bomb. My old cheap one closed, the new more expensive one has fuel on site...

    Emmer effer got me!!!

I have trim tabs and have planed on one engine, ended up getting maybe 15MPH at 90% power. The engines don't use much fuel when going slow. you can travel a great distance at 5 mph. same or longer than at planning speed. With the grates under the boat intake there is very little I think you...

    Here come the hybrids

I'm not an OSHA expert, but another 15ft of wire of the correct gauge should be as safe as any other use of an extension cord.

Water coming into engine compartment under power. See pics.

Also, check water level when you stop for some time and again on departure. If the water level goes up also while stopped you should not need the engine running to find the leak. Rub rail and hose/cable entry points are known areas of possible water ingress. Best of luck on your hunt.

    Issues with bilge pump.

It was not terrible to add more, the more scary thing is drilling holes in the fiberglass, but once you get over the fear it's a piece of cake. If I had to do it over I would have picked a bilge pump with more standard hose size. I used atwood 1200gph pumps that use an uncommon hose that ended...

    Issues with bilge pump.

Use the Same pump. If you want more power and more redundancy you can add another pump and another hose and hole out the side. I have 3 pumps total. "I wish I had fewer bilge pumps" said no one ever. What you really need is a bilge alarm. if anything goes wrong, and you notice water because...

Need good ideas on repower issues - help please

Nice!!! I was thinking about you... Everything seemed to be just fine outside the engine, looks like the issue was on the inside after all.
