2005 vx110 stock jet unit, nothing has been changed for 18 years. looking for enthusiast/expert feedback on my impeller housing and pump.

1. impeller housing, I don’t know what a brand new housing finish looks like so I don’t know if what I have is normal/acceptable or needs replaced. If needs replaced…that means whole housing unit right? There isn’t a removable ring on the vx setups I believe.

2. Pump vanes, enough damage to require replacement?

3. my dumb butt rode years on this impeller, never lost speed, but sure caused vibration at low and mid throttle. I know the bent blade was the cause of all my problems. Curious, are the two not bent blades still chewed up to be a porblem? Just trying to get a guage on what level of damage can start causing problems. I will be swapping this one out for solas concord.

The wear ring looks great but it is mostly about the right clearance to the impeller so you would need to measure and compare to the new Solas spec to know if you are getting too large of a gap. I have seen way worse on pumps that still work fine but it can be crazy what will cause cavitation. I see no issue. You could fill that little bit in with JB weld and file smooth since it is off.

Thanks for the response! I will check clearance when the unit goes back together. Sorry if this is a novice question…the only way to check clearance on the vx setups is to take off the impeller housing from the ski and mate it to the pump out of the ski? I guess i could take off the intake grate and access the impeller housing from the upstream side too?
