FYI, to put sleeves into the block is fairly simple if you feel hillbilly enough to do it. I did this for my 2 smoke exciter:
First, Get the grill rockin. Clean it up. Stick the block in there. Get it nice and hot. No campfires, that's not controlled enough. You should have had the sleeves frozen in the deep freeze last night.
The block expands, the frozen sleeves slide right in. Use a GOOD flat device to make sure it stays flush as you put them in. Use oven mitts or welding gloves. You will have about 8 seconds to adjust it before it's locked into place.
Gluck.
I would like to see video of this process! Gotta check youtube.

Lol
My buddy and i did it for the exciter sleeves because we made one good set from 2 engines. In the grill to get them out it was like a timer! Set it upside down on a couple of blocks and when ya heard all three hit the grates, they're done!
Don't think we took video, but perhaps a picture. I know that grill is now work only as he has gotten a few skis in for work now.

Yea it works great on the 2 strokes but I'd recommend a hot plate or an oven over a grill any day.

I have done this project again. Only this time I used a vx110 block AND a vx110 head. I learned a lot more than what I already had known. The heads appear to be the same. They use the same valve, valve springs, etc. Very economical way to do this if you have the know how.

@Joe Current are you still on here?
