Is this normal debris from a rubber coupler with 35 hours? Or is this impending doom?

Thanks!

Are you sure that black stuff is from the rubber hose? It looks like oil in the picture.

Those are the cooling lines, and if that is actually rubber shavings from the lines I would say they just flaked off around the hose clamps.

Probably nothing to worry about, but you could remove the clamps (total PITA) and inspect the hoses for excessive wear if you’re still worried about it.

I can’t picture where the PTO coupler off the back of the engine is in relation to that rubber hose, but it could be shavings from the rubber isolator in between the two couplers...

The way it’s in a line like that looks like it was thrown/splattered by something at high speed, that’s why I brought up the PTO coupler.

Yes, I believe the PTO coupler / dampener, not the hose. Poor photo, but the engine is upper left and rear bearing the upper right with the shaft horizontal. Look like rubber dust from the coupler coming from the possible open bottom of the shroud?

If that’s the case there is a reason it’s shaving the rubber isolator. Likely the two couplers aren’t aligned properly and the rubber is getting pinched.

I doubt your engine mounts worked loose (mine were unbelievably tight), so I would think maybe your mid shaft is wobbling a bit...

Since it’s a 2018 I would assume it’s under warranty, so the dealer should fix whatever the problem is.

The bad news is that you could be without a boat for a while, since they’re usually pretty busy this time of year.

I would take it in though, I have experience with shafts shifting/wobbling, and it can end very badly.
