20 years next year, could use some suggestions

We did 3 weeks in Alaska and that was a trip of a lifetime.

We hope to do the bahamas trip for our 10th anniversary!
Just love the ideas!

I sure appreciate all the ideas!! We have been considering a lot of things. It's pretty easy for us to get to places like Florida and Mexico considering we are in a small town. Usually have to fly through Dallas and 2 hours we are in either place. Down side to either of those two places during that time of year is it will be Spring break. It's not that I dislike having hard-body, college girls running around...just not quite what I was looking for. Was looking at the Caribbean...Grenda, the Cayman's, maybe the Turks. I was a little surprised to see how many places are already booked for March of next year. Thought about a cruise too. Last time we were on a cruise we won $10K at bingo!! Paid for the entire trip and then some. Everyone got a little extra in their tip envelope. That was kind of cool, they said we didn't have to pay taxes since we were in international waters.

I second the Fiji response...

@Suchawittygal ... have you been to Fiji?? It is definitely on our bucket list and almost stopped there on the way back from New Zealand.

We're doing a 35th anniversary cruise out of Barcalona Spain. France, Italy, Mallorca De Pallma Island, Ibeza Island, Gibralter, and back to Barcalona. Cayman Island is fun but expensive. St. Croix is great. Jamacia is good if you do all-inclusive. Hawaii is good anywhere any island.

Last year I went on a 2 week South Africa trip. We went to Zambia for Victoria falls and there are literally zebra and garaffes walking thru the resort. Botswana for a Chobe river safari. Then to Cape Town and finally Kruger National park. I never felt threaten anywhere. You will be required to get some shots and take anti malaria drugs but it was worth it. The flight over sucks, but only because it's so long. Once in country everything was relatively cheap. We used Dragonfly Africa as our agent.

Thailand. Absolutely breath taking beaches and super inexpensive. Rent a private hut out on your own dock surrounded by crystal clear water and amazing rockscapes. They'll cater to your every need for very cheap. Do a google image search for Thailand islands and you might be surprised at what you see.

Papa- if you go to Barcelona I recommend taking the high speed train to Madrid as well.

@Skysurfer2010 ... what is flight time to Thailand from Philly?? I'm guessing 20 hours??

You can't go direct that I'm aware of. It's a lot of flying. Anywhere from 22 to 28 hours of sitting in a flying tube from PHL. The quickest is on Qatar with one stop in Doha which is 21 hours and 40 mins. Or you could do air France with a stop in Paris in 22 hours and 20 mins. That might be a better option haha.

Sad to say we don't have too many direct flights. But will for sure look at it. I have heard from some other friends of ours that went to Thailand and said the same thing as you. If I could just hit the Powerball one time......:cigar:
