Hey Guys,

I posted this in the Sea Doo section but I'm not sure that sub-forum gets a ton of run. Anyway, I picked up a 2001 Uptopia last week that has a fresh Mercury without the oil injection(takes mixed) by a local powersport shop. Everything runs great and we had it on the lake the whole weekend. After we pulled it out on Saturday and rinsed it out with the flush system, I noticed a small-ish oil leak sitting under the rear or the boat. I'm guessing it's coming from the jet drive, has anyone seen anything like this? I had left town but my stepdad said he opened the engine compartment and everything looked clean in there.

Anyone have any ideas on where I should start?

Thanks!

That far astern it is likely leaking from the stator. There is a pipe plug dead center on the rear, that is the fill plug, above that is a fill vent plug, likely a allen head. If neither of those is leaking [ unlikely ] then it is most likely the shaft seal in the stator. Not that big of a deal to get at, you will be removing the stator every time you change oil anyway.

Any recommendations on where to get that part? Is there a service manual for this?

Looking closer that's a pretty good leak, stator holds less than 3/4 qt.

Must be the 210 then. If it's not the strator seals, any ideas what else it could be?

Bout the only place it can leak, also fill and vent screws on the front end of the pump but yours looks like its coming from the rear unless it's running back along something. Otherwise I don't know where it could come from.

I posted this in another forum and thought I posted it here. I got a picture from my parents and it's not great but they think it's leaking from this seal. Is that the strator seal. Is there one on the front and back?

There is a large o-ring in the joint your arrow is pointing to, number 34 in the parts diagram if you disassemble be aware of the small o-ring number 33 when you reassemble, that's for your cooling water. Also number 29 is the stator seal There shouldn't be any oil behind that o-ring though. there is also a seal on the front end of the impeller shaft. That housing also holds about 3/4 qt. of lube.
