2004 Sugarsand Mirage 1800 Engine Replacement

Hey! New to this forum, my name is Nick. I just recently acquired a 2004 sugar sand mirage powered by a mercury sport jet 210. Boat is super clean and in my eyes worth saving. Im looking to swap it over the winter to get it back on the water come summer time. The engine currently in it has a hole in the block from a rod.

Any recommendations on a budget friendly swap?

Will a mercury 175 powerhead 00-05 drop in?

Will a mercury 240 powerhead 00-05 drop in?

Open to all ideas.

You might want to check out some Mercury SportJet specific forums. When I owned a 240EFI, I researched what powerheads may be used just in case mine grenaded. (I sold it prior)

But the biggest issue with the powerheads, as they are plumbed very similar and bolts line up to the jet pump. The issue was the drive shaft diameter and spline count. Nobody seemed to be able to confirm or deny what the options were. it was just so costly that nobody wanted to attempt it on a hunch.

Best of luck, but this is what killed most surviving Sugar Sand and SeaDoo boats with the Mercury SportJet.
