2010 AR240 Rehab

Making progress. Back seats are a bit tough to get at if you aren’t limber and small enough. Found two pad bases were cracked and not repaired well. Replaced the wood with plastic and added back stainless screws with epoxy to make it solid. I painted one to match and left the other black. Not sure which one I like better. Still need to ad hidem around the staples to finish the first pads off.

Looks great, @sjbrush! How difficult was the upholstery install?

I think it depends on your perspective. If you have patience and time on your side it’s really not bad. Each step takes some time until you get a rhythm. Even taking off the old skins and staples takes time.

Once I got the hang of it I started to enjoy the craft. I was happy to finish the curved sections without large wrinkles. I did have to take a couple back apart to get them right but I just took my time and it came out great. I’d plan on 2hrs per pad. If that’s too long for you just pay someone to do it.

Looks great. Have you put it in the water yet ?

Yes I’ve taken it out a few times now. It runs amazing. Takes off fast and runs +50mph. I’m not sure how much I love the thrust vectors though. They’re great for slow speed maneuvering but I’m wondering if they make high speed turning a little stiffer. Is that common for these boats or is it the thrust vectors?

Steering is a 2 handed operation if trying to turn at speed.

TVs would be up at high speed, so no impact. If you want assist while turning Cobra Jets stay down and can help.
