This just started recently, my starboard engine starts and runs great, after its been running for awhile and you turn off the ignition and try to restart, it does nothing, I've checked the battery's and all my connections to the engine as well as the ECU Unit everything checks out.

When you say "it does nothing", do you mean the starter doesn't work (engine won't crank)? Or are you saying it cranks and cranks, but won't start?

engine doesn't crank, I just hear a click that comes from the ECU, I thought that the ECU might be bad so I took the ECU from the port side and switched it to the starboard side and I get the same result so it's not the ECU.

The ECU is located close to the starter. Do you think the ground connection at the starter has to be cleaned?

I'm assuming the clean out port hatch has two cut out switches like the later ones do. I'd start there. It's possible the starboard one is misadjusted just enough they after some time on the water the switch doesn't close. Hold down the switches while someone cranks on the starboard engine. Make sure the clean out plugs are installed and keep your hands out of that compartment other than to push on the switches. I'm assuming you're doing this work on the trailer.

If that does t work,. check the throttle neutral safety switches. It may be out of adjustment.

If those don't work, then, as suggested above check the starboard starter solenoid and starter. A multi tester to check if you're going getting power to the starter solenoid when you turn the key to crank the starboard e gone would be helpful.

worn out starter..... The click is the starter bendix engaging/moving but due to heat the starter motor itself cant flow enough current to "turn over" ..... OR power cable to starter motor corroded big time (but usually this isnt a hot cold dependent problem).

Due your diligence first, check all connections to the starter.
