2014 242 Limited S Port Side Door Tight

I recently purchased a 2014 242 Limited S as a first venture into the jet boat world. I love the boat and it has performed will but I am having some issues with the port side door of the "changing area". It is very tight to shut and very difficult to shut it far enough to actually latch. I usually just wedge it closed enough and it works fine. My assumption is that the plastic has just swollen over time causing it to not fit correctly anymore. I considered buying a new door but at $700, i want to make sure that will actually solve the problem. Has anyone else done this or had this issue? I can't think of anything else it could be other than the hinges but they are in good shape and tight.

You may be able to adjust or replace the latch. I had to adjust the latches on my cleanout hatch to hold it tight enough to keep the cut-off switch from tripping.
Also do a search on the forum for similar threads about changing out compartment latches. I remember seeing one with info on switching out OEM for stainless steel latches.

I appreciate the info but I don't have latches like that in mine. Its more like a spring loaded door latch. Regardless, I don't think the latch is the issue, I think the door plastic has just slightly swollen over time making it tight.

i have the same problem on my 14 242 limited s, after checking the hinges and latch making sure they are tight. i shaved the edge of the door slightly in till it fit correctly, didn't take much and it not noticeable with the door closed. i used a carbide burr on a drill and straight edge to keep t even.

I had thought about doing that as well. I think it’s the bottom rubbing more than the sides so that wouldn’t be noticeable at all.
