Ok guys I dropped the money on the 2017+ wakebooster knowing I would likely have to alter it although the guy at the parts counter said it would fit. Here are the pictures of what I did and the approximate measurements of the cuts I made.

I used a 18v Mikita battery powered hand held router with a 1/4 bit and a 1/2” drill bit in the drill so I did t have to do a plunge cut.

I followed the same angle as the cut outs for the tie downs that come machined into the wakebooster.

Here are the pictures.

PM me if you want to give me a call and talk about it.

The final picture is of my brother in law, only surfed a couple times. Wake booster installed. We also have factory ballast full, 400lbs on top step, 400 lbs on seat behind the helm and my dad (guessing 350ish) on the port side corner. This was our very first run and we ran out of kid free time before we could try to many set ups.
P.S. don’t tell my wife how much they cost and I cut it to make it work. J/k she knows :)

Was this done because of the location of the tie downs? Is the bottom of the swim platform relatively flat on your boat?

Yes to both. The tabs on the wakebooster made for the 212x could be cut off and use the manufactured tie down spots but it would cause the booster to be shifted to far toward the centerline of the boat and would not direct enough water toward the jet wash.

@buckbuck it sounds like what he is trying to say is, this modification still wont make it work on our boats. haha.

It does work :) I was saying instead of the modification I did you could cut off the tabs so that it would sit in the factory cut outs. However if you do that then the blade out be far enough out to catch and divert water back in.

here are two pictures before with full factory ballasts and no rider and after with the booster (As I modified it) plus ballast and my brother in law getting into the wave.2A0A8FF9-5EFA-463B-82CC-9B6CBBD74D5E.jpegCBAA2967-1FEA-473C-8CA1-AB4F46BB8200.png.

Don’t your boats have about a foot of flat surface under the bottom step also?

Nah, we only have like 5.5"....

Think it could work?IMG_20200704_223604.jpg

I think it might be workable. From the forward edge to the back of the mounting hole i cut is about 5”. If you can make a paper template with dimensions on it I will duplicate it and over lay it on mine to see if i can get it to layout right.

Can you tell me what dimensions and sizing you are looking for? I'll be glad to do this tomorrow. Like, dimensions from where to where? @3 green tornados

@RXBoost was reading my mind @3 green tornados . I am just not optimistic that the booster will fit on our boats because things are so rounded under there. You guys with newer boat have it much flatter.

Got pics of this on your boat? Awesome post btw. I have a 2012 and want to do something similar.

IMG_20200703_164931501.jpgIMG_20200703_230549184.jpgI modified one after 3 green tornados did his. Works very well. I only did the regular side. 14 212x.

Pics only. Lake we were on is 20' at deepest so wave isn't great but ropeless easily.IMG_20200823_111055216_HDR.jpgIMG_20200823_111106661.jpg
